The diaspora of retired Venezuelan military personnel and widows is found predominantly in countries throughout the Western Hemisphere. All are united in seeking redress for the harm caused by the arbitrary suspension of the bank transfers of their pensions to the countries that took them in during the persecution by the Nicolás Maduro regime.
The purpose of FIMVEPEX is to secure just reparations for the pensions that were suspended for Venezuelan military personnel and widows living in exile.
This organization was founded in 2014 out of the need to effectively bring together retired Venezuelan military personnel and widows whose pension payments were suspended while they were in exile and/or who were victims of political persecution. These retired officers had no alternative but to go into exile with their families in the United States of America and other countries.
However, for most of them, life in exile presented many challenges due to their advanced age, health conditions, and difficulties in finding employment and making ends meet.
It can be concluded that the most degrading factor in the living conditions of the military personnel and widows in exile is the arbitrary suspension of their pension payments abroad, in addition to the loss of their purchasing power due to hyperinflation.
To organize the diaspora of prominent retired Venezuelan military personnel and widows to legally claim fair financial reparations to compensate for the financial losses and the emotional, psychological, and health damages caused by the suspension of the transfer of their pensions in foreign currency while in exile, as well as by the political persecution to which they were subjected.
To ensure that justice is served for the harm inflicted upon retired military officers and widows through monetary compensation for suspended pensions — which the Venezuelan government is legally obligated to provide — or through another entity responsible for managing funds confiscated due to acts of corruption in Venezuela.
To fulfill the tasks inherent in the organization’s Mission, considering the assessment of its internal and external circumstances, and bearing in mind the long-term purpose set forth in the Vision, the following objectives are established:
To secure fair financial reparations for suspended pensions, compensating for the financial losses, emotional, psychological, and health-related harm suffered by members during their exile. This effort will be directed toward the new authorities that will emerge from the transition process toward freedom and democracy, or through legal claims before any other international entity in charge of assets confiscated from corrupt Venezuelans.
Make the membership’s reliable human capital available to these new democratic authorities leading the transition process, to assist them based on their experience and leadership in the reorganization of Venezuela’s conventional military.
Positively promote the federation’s cause in the public eye.
Continue to apply the Code of Ethics to new members.
To manage and administer donations in order to provide social and humanitarian aid to its most needy members, particularly the widows of two distinguished officers of the National Armed Forces who tragically died while in the custody of Nicolás Maduro Moros’s narco-regime.
